UN envoy accused of ignoring Somaliland terror bombings
The Somaliland minister of internal affairs and the deputy ministers of information and planning today held talks with humanitarian organizations operating in the country.
The meeting discussed the functions, the role of the organizations in serving the public as well as security and other pressing issues at a meeting in the Ministry of Foreign Affair’s conference room.
Abdullahi Ismai’l Iro, the minister of internal affairs stressed the importance of consultations on security issues.
The Somaliland foreign affairs minister, Abdullahi Muhammad Du’ale, who spoke had strong words for the UN secretary-general’s special representative to Somaliland and Somalia, Ahmadou Oud Abdallah, for his silence and failure to visit Somaliland after the terror bombings.
The deputy planning minister Ahmad Hashi Abdi said the ugly attacks would not affect the operations of international agencies in Somaliland.
The deputy information minister Ali Ilmi Geleh urged the Somaliland public and the media to be vigilant in securing Somaliland.
